Today, we are growing up in times where terms such as renewable energy, global warming, protecting the environment, and others that should explain the state of our planet, every day find its way into the media, and through them to us citizens.

Whether all these facts are scientifically assured, data and figures with which we are confronted from a variety of sources, eventually is beyond our knowledge.

If we assume, however, that we human beings inhabit the earth for the next 10’000 years (Doomsday-Argument), then of course it's worth to have a look at the earth’s sustainability.

We assume, however, that the scientists when having figured out our “maturity” didn’t calculate with one great unknown, because they were not able to do this.

Namely, they couldn’t and cannot calculate the uncertainties which our politicians and their “go-getters” will cause through their actions worldwide in terms of environment, nuclear setup, nuclear power, waste of natural resources, to name just a few.

Based on the experience of recent decades, however, this will tend to have more negative than positive effects.

The world population currently comprises some 6.8 billion people. 2010, there will probably be 6.9 billion people.  This is the period from 2005 to 2015 with an anticipated annual population growth of around 79 million people.

Let us, therefore, look more closely at the above-mentioned sustainability of our planet:

Among sustainability of the earth one understands the population of a geographic area (or even the whole earth), whose diet and maintenance of standard of living is secured, long term and sustainable, by the natural resources.

Cultural and civilizing development can increase the sustainability temporarily (e. g. Neolithic Revolution, Industrial Revolution), as well as limit again (e. g. environmental pollution, depletion of non-renewable raw materials).

1. The agricultural sustainability. It is not exceeded as long as an agrarian society with an already reached or soon to be reached cultural and civilization standard can permanently exist without destroying the natural potential.

2. The effective sustainability. It determines the number of people to be nourished taking into account the applied agricultural technology.

3. Potential sustainability = sustainability which could be achieved in area considering the actual standard of civilization.

4. Internal sustainability = sustainability which is achieved in area without trading with other areas

5. External sustainability = sustainability which is achieved in area due to trade with other areas
Total sustainability = sustainability which is achieved in area due to the whole economic activity

6. Optimum sustainability : sustainability which is achieved in area while maintaining a certain standard of living

7. Maximum sustainability = sustainability which is achieved in area while maintaining the mere subsistence

From many considerations, not least in order to improve the sustainability mentioned among the various regions, we have decided to become involved in agriculture and related adjacent areas.

That’s why point 1 and 2 of our list are of top priority in our engagement.

On the one hand, we deal with the trade and the exchange of agricultural products, and on the other hand we give advice on agricultural techniques up to renewable energy and resource management.

One of our main focuses is to persuade producers more and more to cultivate environmentally conscious and biological, and to commit to ecological, sustainable and appropriate livestock farming. Each step in this direction, no matter how small, is the beginning of a great success for all of us.

Of course, we would be pleased to gain you and your company to our satisfied customers.
